DAY 8 Punakha – Paro

Return to Thimphu for lunch and browse handicraft shops for meaningful souvenirs. Continue to Paro, visiting Semtokha Dzong en route—Bhutan’s oldest fortress from 1627, now home to the Institute for Language and Culture Studies. Arrive in Paro with afternoon free to relax. Overnight in Paro.

DAY 9 Paro

Ascend to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, climbing approximately two hours above Paro valley (horses available). Later, visit the reconstructed Drukgyel Dzong, with sacred Mount Jomolhari’s majestic peak rising behind in clear weather. Explore additional Paro valley treasures on your return journey. DAY 10 Depart Paro
